A former guesthouse manager contacted Daniel after 12–13 years, asking him to change his face in a 2020 gay-experience thumbnail. Daniel found the manager’s wording—“uncomfortable/grossed out” and formal “yoroshiku onegaishimasu”—insulting, blocked him, and did not reply. After a privacy complaint, Daniel had 48 hours to blur the face and replace the thumbnail or lose the video; he says former acquaintances only contact him to remove appearances.
