Everything is shit.

On guesthouse day four, crowds and noise overwhelm him; lacking room internet forces him downstairs, though he does speak with people. He doubts he can stay three months, feels bored in Japan and at home, and recognises relocation cannot outrun problems. He spends much of the day on Hearthstone and YouTube, abandons a comic, and admits preferring easy, non-time-consuming pursuits.

The hoped-for social reset reverses quickly: travel exposes persistent avoidance, boredom, and difficulty sustaining commitments.
