From age seven, gaming escalated from Game Boy and consoles to World of Warcraft, replacing outdoor life and consuming attention. WoW addiction caused family fights, violence, all-day play, failing grades, abandoned studies, and roughly £1,000 stolen from his father’s PayPal. He eventually left WoW for anime, Japanese study, and manga ambitions; now games are rewards after work and chores.

Gaming remains enjoyable, but his outlook shifted from helpless compulsion toward deliberate self-control.
