WHY I quit my Job in Japan

In 2011, he entered Japan on a working-holiday visa intending a year; convenience-store work proved boring and harder than expected. Repeated errors, rude customers, unclear speech, and newspaper transactions eroded his confidence; coworkers grew irritated and his boss confronted him. After quitting around four months in, he briefly sought another job, left defeated, then returned repeatedly, including a fifth visit.

Affection for Japan survives rejection of retail work and his earlier vow never to return.
